How to Change Jobs as a Skilled Worker in the UK

Migrant workers may encounter various challenges when they enter the UK from abroad. Some of the challenges may cause migrant workers to switch jobs or change employers.

Common reasons why skilled workers change jobs include failure to get sufficient hours, conflicts with employers. You may wish to seek alternative employment with another provider.

Here are the 5 possible solutions on how you can seek alternative employment

1. Search for Jobs on websites such as:

Indeed

Total Jobs

JobCentre Plus

2. Apply Online

You can also apply online for Carer or Senior Carer Jobs directly on their websites using the following List of Sponsors guide. Click HERE to go to the guide.

3. Look in your Area

Look in your local area in nursing homes and private hospitals.

4. Join a Support Whatsapp Group

Join a support group where you can get information about vacancies – click HERE to join the Whatsapp group. Send an email to marketing@tulia.org.uk if the group is full, and request to be added manually.

5. Get Peer & Spiritual Support

We also have a prayer support group where you can get peer support and spiritual support from other people during this difficult time. It is a Christian group but open to people of all faiths who would like to join. Click HERE to join the whatsapp group.

Important things to NOTE before changing jobs

If you are going to change employers, there is a need to submit a new Skilled Worker application to the Home Office providing the details of your new sponsor. Your new sponsor must be on the Home Office’s Register of licensed sponsors and have a Skilled Worker Sponsor Licence. If you would like legal advice or help with the application process, book for a consultation with our expert legal advisors today. Click HERE to book an appointment.
