How to report changes in your UK address to the Home Office

If you’re a migrant living in the UK or your application was made in the UK, it’s important to keep your details up-to-date with the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI). The official website provides a convenient way to update your personal information.

When to Use the Form

You can use this form to update various details, including:

  • Your home address

  • Your correspondence address

  • Your legal representative’s address

  • Your dependant’s details (dependants will only be updated if listed on your form. This includes under 18 children and adult dependants)

Processing Time

Unless further information is required, UKVI aims to update your details within 5 working days of submitting the information online. However, this may take slightly longer at peak times. If you submit your notification by post, it will take up to 5 working days from receipt of correspondence.

Who Shouldn’t Use this Form?

If you’re an accession state worker or in the UK under the Workers Registration Scheme (WRS), you do not need to notify UKVI of an address change. If you applied under the EUSS scheme, or you are a British National Overseas (BNO) customer, you should update your address using the following self-service link.

Information and Evidence You Will Need

To submit a change of address or inform UKVI of a change in your legal representation, you’ll need the following information:

  • Your full name

  • Your date of birth

  • Your nationality

  • Home Office Reference Number / Port Number

  • Your old postcode

  • Your new address

  • Your passport, BRP or ARC number

  • Your email address

  • Your home telephone number

  • Your mobile number

  • Your legal representatives details

  • The name, date of birth and nationality of any dependants if you need to update their details

You will also need to provide a specific photographic identity document and evidence of your new address. These must be the full documents. Evidence of your address must be dated within the last 3 months and must show your full name and address. You can send digital copies of your evidence documents as a PDF, PNG, and JPEG1.

Summary

Keeping your details up-to-date with UKVI is crucial for migrants living in the UK. The process is straightforward and can be done online. Remember to have all the necessary information and evidence ready before you start the process. Use the button below to start updating your address now.
