The UK government is increasing visa fees

The UK government is increasing visa fees for most types of visas, including those for students and tourists. The new visa fees will come into effect on October 4, 2023, subject to parliamentary approval. The move comes ahead of the launch of the UK's new Electronic Travel Authorisation visa scheme.

The cost of a visit visa for less than six months will increase by £15 to £115, and the cost of a student visa will increase by £127 to £490. Fees for other types of visas, such as work visas and priority visas, will also increase.

The UK government says that the increase in visa fees is necessary to meet the country's public sector wage increase and the rising cost of providing public services.
