Tulia Collaborates with BASNET to Support Vulnerable Individuals on Sponsorship Visa Schemes

We are pleased to announce that Tulia has been invited to partner with the UK BME Anti-Slavery Network (BASNET) in an important initiative aimed at providing Legal Advice and support for individuals at risk of exploitation under various sponsorship visa schemes. This significant collaboration, funded by the Samworth Foundation, unites three dedicated organizations—Tulia, AFRUCA, and De Butterfly CIC—to address the diverse needs of some of the most vulnerable members of our communities.

As part of this initiative, Tulia will focus on delivering free legal immigration advice to those impacted. This service includes up to one hour of legal consultations annually, during which we will assist beneficiaries in navigating immigration complexities, finding alternative visa sponsors, and taking actionable steps toward stability and independence. Our objective is to provide clarity and reassurance in a challenging immigration landscape, empowering individuals to progress with confidence and dignity.

This partnership highlights Tulia’s enduring commitment to facilitating meaningful change within the community. Addressing immigration issues, particularly those exacerbated by exploitation, requires not only legal expertise but also compassion, understanding, and a strong commitment to justice. Through this initiative, our goal is to equip vulnerable individuals with the tools and knowledge necessary to rebuild their lives.

We are also grateful to have two exceptional partners:

  • AFRUCA offers essential practical support, helping beneficiaries access critical services such as housing, social services, and financial assistance. Their advocacy enables individuals to secure the resources they need to regain stability.

  • De Butterfly CIC provides invaluable mental health support through free group therapy sessions. They focus on individuals facing anxiety, depression, or trauma, guiding them on their journey toward emotional recovery and well-being.

Together, this partnership creates a robust support system to meet the legal, practical, and emotional needs of those who might otherwise feel lost.

For Tulia, this collaboration represents an opportunity to broaden our reach and enhance our impact. We recognize the unique challenges encountered by those on sponsorship visa schemes, and we are committed to ensuring they have access to the legal resources necessary to protect their rights.
