Flourish Women’s Conference

On 18th June 2022, Tulia’s CEO, Rumbi Bvunzawabaya hosted a Flourish Women’s Conference for women to uncover their inner best self, to thrive in relationships, their career and overall being. Flourish means to grow or develop in a healthy or vigorous way, especially as the result of a particularly favourable environment.

It’s hard to flourish when we feel exhausted, overworked and overwhelmed.

So how can we flourish when we find difficulty in finishing a task without getting distracted?

How can we flourish when our hearts are heavy, our community is lacking and our relationships are splintered?

How can we flourish when there’s barely any fruit, life or growth happening in our hearts?

Our speakers spoke about flourishing after facing adversity, such as bereavement, divorce or illness.

Speakers included Mary Dott, who shared advice on overcoming rejection, Fadzai Beatrice Nyirenda who shared helpful information regarding raising children through divorce, and Chenai Banda who discussed prospering through property.

The tools shared at the conference included coping mechanisms such as using prayer and faith, rest and exercise and practising gratitude.

The interactive day gave the women, who were aged between 18 to 75, valuable tools for coping with life disruptions and arising from the ashes of defeat.

Tulia has worked with the delegates over the last two years. The Flourish event was a meet-in-person event for people who had attended online courses regarding divorce recovery. This first face-to-face meeting was a time of fun encouragement, sharing victories and empowering each other.

Some of the attendees were clients that we were able to help during the pandemic thanks to the grants and funding from Rosa and the Heart of England.
